Welcome to the world of INSANE MCC

Insane started in the autumn of 1994 at a pub called the George & Dragon in the High Street in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. It developed from a few bikers who used to hang out at Ray’s burger van. The club was formed properly in March 1995 with around 10 members. At times we’ve had getting on for 30 members, although we are a bit thinner on the ground at the moment.
We have met at many pubs over the years. Some closed down, forcing us to move on, some we left for various reasons.

As most of us are party animals we have been to many rallies. We started organising our own Insanity parties in 1998 with our first Christmas party at Toby Hall's Paintball site in Lane End. If you have ever been a M*A*S*H fan, you'd have loved it. This was the first event that the club had hosted on its own, and judging by the aftermath it was a roaring success (they drank the bar dry!). More parties followed each year until 2004, each building on the success of the previous ones.
The first Insanity Rally took place in 2002 at Slough Rugby Club. It was a humble start, with an attendance of around 150.
The Second Insanity Rally in 2003 saw 400 through the gate and it was a roaring success.
In 2004 we lost Slough Rugby Club as the venue and moved to an open field site in Prestwood. Setting everything up from scratch was a monumental effort but we had over 750 people through the gate and it was probably our crowning achievement. Some might say we haven’t recovered from it yet!
The reason for holding the parties and rallies, apart from having a bloody good time with our biking friends, was to raise funds for charities.
We have donated significant amounts to the Wycombe Special Care Baby Unit, N.A.B.D., and, following Mo’s horrific accident in 2001, the Chilterns and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
All in all, the world is small and very insane and that's the way we like it. Bikers are bikers the world over, so if you fall hopelessly into that category, we'd love to hear from you. If you want to get to know us a bit better, pop down to our pub (first Thursday of each month) and you’ll be sure of a warm welcome.
